The TransVBook translates Chinese to English on a word by word, phrase by phrase basis.
It allows a person to read Chinese in its original context in English.
Reading a novel translated from Chinese to English is nothing like reading the novel in Chinese. The languages are so different that the literary expression simply can not be conveyed.
It should be amusing for people to find out what it is really like reading Chinese, totally different to reading an European language.
More specifically, it should be extremely useful for a person that is learning Chinese, the most time consuming part is looking up what the words mean.
The first TransVBook produced has a greater word count than 'War And Peace' and it is a very interesting book to read. By the time a person read through the entire book, the ability to read Chinese is probably adequate for most purpose.
It may not be book of choice for a persons first 'proper' Chinese novel since starting to learn Chinese. But, he can actually read the TransVBook before he achieves the ability to read a novel. He'll then be able to read the novel of his chosing.
The technology UNICODE based, it can be adapted to just about all the languages in current use. Possibly, it could become available in other languages at some point in the furture, if there is sufficient interest.
